The Frites Atelier opened their doors last year in The Hague. In this post I will tell you more about the Indo Peanut fries at the Frites Atelier.

Since the opening last year, I have been to the Frites Atelier several times. Last year they had the fries with basil mayonnaise which is so good! Unfortunately they don’t carry the basil mayonnaise anymore. But luckily they introduced something new: Indo Peanut fries. This dish is served with peanut crunch of fried onions, peanuts, rempejek and lime zest. Well I must say, the taste of the Indo Peanut is exquisite! If you are a fan like me of mayonnaise and peanut, this is something for you!

Sergio Herman is a top chef and has three Michelin stars. He had great success with his family restaurant Oud Sluis, but decided to focus on new projects. Some of his projects are The Jane in Antwerp, Pure C and AIRrepublic in Cadzand. The Frites Atelier is also one of his projects. In fact Sergio Herman is the co-founder of Frites Atelier Amsterdam.

The flagship store is in Amsterdam, but I am glad that the Frites Atelier is also in The Hague. The interior of the Frites Atelier looks a bit old fashioned. This is the design by Studio Piet Boon. The Frites Atelier is rather small and there is not a lot of space inside to sit down and eat the fries. At the front there are some small benches and tables where you can eat your fries. At the wall you will see the menu which is printed on a mirror.

Across the menu you will find the selection of sauces. The menu consists of a few standard flavors and a few seasonal specials. My boyfriend ordered the flemish beef stew and he quite likes it. I also have ordered the Papas Catalan, which is quite yummy. But my favorite is the Indo Peanut.
