Rituals Advent Calendar 2017 review
Rituals Advent Calendar 2017 review
Yesterday it was Sinterklaas on the 5th of december. In the Netherlands they celebrate this day with gifts for children. When the kids grow up they eventually stop believing that Sinterklaas is real. I don’t celebrate Sinterklaas, but when I came home last night, there are a few presents waiting for me! It is such a surprise and such a sweet gesture of my boyfriend. One of the presents is the exclusive Rituals advent calendar.
The calendar comes in a giant green box with a red ribbon around it. The packaging already is very cute and festive. When you open the calendar there is this top piece which you can attach to the box. When standing up, the advent calendar looks like a Christmas tree! Isn’t it cute? Since the december month is already going on, there are already 5 days which I can open.
On the first of december the advent calendar starts with the gift Ritual of Ayurveda hydrating hand lotion. This is a tube of 70 ml and actually the full size of this product. The key ingredients in this hand lotion are indian rose and sweet almond oil. I am a fan of this hand lotion, to be honest I already have this hand lotion in my hand bag for quite some time now. The tube is very convenient, since it is small in size, you can easily put it in your hand bag to go.
The second present in the advent calendar is the Ritual of Anahata shower foam. This comes in a can of 50 ml. The Ritual of Anahata is the new winter limited edition of Rituals. The key ingredients of this line are rosewood and pine. I think this new line smells pretty unique, but I still need to use this shower foam.
On the third day the gift is a small candle of the Ritual of Anahata line. It is a cute golden mini candle which smells pretty nice. The only thing is, I can’t seem to get it out of the package. I wonder how it smells like when I lit the candle.
At the fourth day you get the gift Ritual of Hammam sea salt hot scrub. The scrub comes in a pot of 125 g. The key ingredients of this line are warm ginger and eucalyptus. I have a review of this line, which you can read here.
On the fifth of december the gift is the Ritual of Sakura magic touch body cream. This is a tube of 70 ml and also the full size of this product, which is rather nice. The key ingredients in this body cream are organic rice milk and cherry blossom. I must say that I am a fan of the Sakura line. It smells so good. The tube also has a nice size, which you can easily put it in your hand bag to go.
The sixth gift of this calendar is the Miracle 3-in-1 mini mascara. As the name already gives it away, this is a multi functional mascara that not only curl your eye lashes, but gives it more length and volume as well. I still need to try this mascara out, but Rituals claims that this mascara won’t smudge or clog. The mascara is also enriched with blue Sapphire, which is quite interesting. The mini mascara has a content of 4 ml. This is half of the size of the full size mascara, since that has a content of 8.5 ml.
On day 7 the gift is a package of Miracle wipes. It has 10 sheets in it. You can use the cleansing wipes to remove make up and the sheets contains organic aloe vera and lotus flower. The wipes also removes waterproof products which is very convenient. You can reseal the package to keep the wipes fresh. Since the package is very small, this is ideal to put in your handbag. I believe this is the only size of the product, since I can’t seem to find the Miracle wipes in a larger format.
The gift of day 8 is the Ritual of Samurai energizing shampoo. This shampoo has the fragrance of wakame and organic bamboo. It is actually a small bottle of 30 ml. The Samurai line is for men and in this advent calendar this is the first gift of the men line so far.
At the ninth day the gift is the Ritual of Dao calming shower oil and the size is 20 ml. The Ritual of Dao contains white lotus and yi yi ren. I really like the Dao series, it smells very nice. This is a mini bottle of the shower oil, since the full size is 200 ml. I like the shower oils of Rituals, but I like the shower foams better. The bottle is stuck in the package and I use a key to lift it out.
On day 10 there is another small candle of the Ritual of Anahata line. It is the second sunday of this month and you can light the candle on this day as a symbol of joy. Once again I can’t seem to get the candle easily out of the package, this is getting pretty annoying.
The gift of day 11 is a Ritual of Dao calming bed and body mist. This is the second item of the Dao series and it comes in a spray bottle of 20 ml. The bed and body mist of Rituals are very nice. I usually use the bed mist for my new bed sheets or I tend to put them in the bathroom as well. This is a small bottle of the bed and body mist, since the full size is 50 ml.
On the twelfth of december the gift is the Ritual of Sakura softening rice scrub. This is a tube of 70 ml and is a mini size of this product. This is the second item of the Sakura series. You can use this scrub in the shower and afterwards you can use the Ritual of Sakura magic touch body cream to moisturize your skin. The tube has a nice size, which you can put it in your hand luggage when you travel with the plane.
On day 13 the gift is a Soap bar with Mandarin and Yuzu. This is a tiny soap bar of only 25 gr. I must say that this gift is a little bit disappointing. To be honest, I don’t use soaps at all. This is one of these soaps you expect to find in a hotel room.
The 14th present in the advent calendar is the Ritual of Hammam shower foam. This comes in a can of 50 ml. This is the second item of the Ritual of Hammam series and also the second mini shower foam. I have a review of this line, which you can read here.
I really like the Rituals advent calendar so far. The packaging is very cute and the presents inside are wonderful. The only thing which I don’t like is that some of the items tend to be stuck inside. I think Rituals try to prevent the items to shuffle inside the box. But maybe they overdo this by making it impossible to get the items out. According to Rituals they claim that there is an opening at each box at the right hand side, but still I cannot seem to get out some items, which is quite frustrating.
I think I need to reach out to the bottom, the other side of the box to grab some of the items out. But so far I do like the travel sizes of the products, there are in total 24 gifts in this exclusive Ritual of Advent calendar. With this calendar you get the opportunity to try out a lot of different Rituals items.
