So what exactly is a Neko Box? The Neko Box is a Japanese mystery monthly subscription box. The Neko Box slogan is “Let’s Discover Japan Together”. In the Neko Box you will find limited edition and unique Japanese ceramics, textiles, traditional crafts, homewares and stationary. Every month they ship the boxes from Japan. There are two types of Neko Box available: the Neko box and the Zakka Kit. The Neko box is a Lifestyle box and the Zakka Kit is a stationary box.

So here it is: the Sakura Dreams Neko Box! This is actually my second Neko Box. My first Neko box is the Lucky Dip Ceramic box. Don’t scroll down when you don’t want to see any spoilers!

Actually my friend Lilia got her Sakura Dreams box first. Her Instagram post made me curious and I decide to order the Sakura Dreams box for myself as well. The Neko Box comes in a brown box, with a cute cat print on top of the box.

Let’s take a look at the inside of the box. The contents of the box are firmly wrapped in a piece of pink sakura print paper and held together with a Neko Box sticker. Next to that you can see the leaflet of the Sakura Dreams Neko Box, a little personal note and some cat stickers. I put the leaflet aside and open the contents of the box.

*Spoilers ahead, last warning, only scroll down if you want to see the contents of the box!*

There are three ceramic items in this box. The first ceramic item is a Minoyaki Sakura Cup. I personally love this cup, it is a white cup and it has some light pink cherry blossoms and petals on it.

The second ceramic item is a grey Sakura Bowl by Minoru Pottery, which is a light grey bowl. On the bowl there are some small white spots here and there, and it is covered with beautiful dark pink cherry blossoms and petal leafs.

I think the grey color of the bowl is unique and so pretty! Both the cup and bowl has a nice texture to the ceramics, which is awesome!

Onto the third item, which is a cute light pink Sakura chopstick rest by Yamani. The chopstick rest is in the shape of a sakura flower and it’s so beautiful! The sakura flower is small, delicate and kawaii!

Next to that there is also a set of Sakura Chopsticks by Tanaka Chopsticks, which is a perfect match with the chopstick rest and the sakura bowl.

The chopsticks are available in two colors and in my box I got the chopsticks in wood color, the top of the handle has some pretty sakura blossom print.

Sakura stationary and more

Furthermore the box consists of two pieces of stationary. The first stationary item is a Sakura and Tokyo Girl art print by Neko Box.

As you can see on the picture above, the print features three pictures of a girl next to sakura blossoms in bloom.

The second piece is one you have seen in a photo above, it’s the cute cat sticker. The stickers have different colors, it goes from red to brown and blue to green.

At last but not least, onto the last item of the Sakura Dreams Box. This item is a pink Sakura and Cat Furoshiki by Maeda Senko. Lately I am very fond of Japanese wrapping clothes. You can use this to wrap gifts or use it as a placemat as well. Look how adorable the little cat is on this Furoshiki and the details of the sakura blossoms is amazing!

My thoughts on the Sakura Dreams Neko Box

Sakura Dreams Neko Box

Well what can I say? I am totally in love with this Sakura Dreams Neko Box. The Sakura Dreams box consists of 7 beautiful sakura items, which is an excellent gift for myself. The only thing which is missing from the description in the leaflet, is whether the ceramics can be put in the dish washer or not. I assume not, so I think it’s handwash only… but it would be nice if it this information would be mentioned in the leaflet.

– edit – I just got feedback from Neko Box and they said: “We actually started putting care instructions in the leaflets.” Yay that’s great!

At the backside of the leaflet, there are two recipes, which is very nice!

I do have to mention one thing though. Upon getting this box I got a customs notice and I had to pay customs, but Carly from Neko Box kindly refunded the customs charge. Carly, if you read this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am delighted with this Sakura Dreams Neko Box and I would like to say Domo arigato!
